ExecuServe Relocation Services

The idea behind ExecuServe

Glowing lightbulb

Sometimes local businesses forget how different, and daunting, Los Angeles can be for candidates weighing a job offer. In our years of working with relocation clients, we've come to understand how critical it is for incoming executives and candidates to understand the choices and trade-offs in local housing.

Some candidates are first-time home buyers, particularly susceptible to sticker shock. But even those who have made a home-buying decision elsewhere may be a bit disoriented. The escrow process we take for granted in California is only used in a half-dozen Western states. So its processes and even vocabularly are unfamiliar.

We have worked with candidates from parts of the country where the term "condo" has such a negative connotation, they cannot imagine what is meant by a luxury condominium. Similarly, some candidates are unfamiliar with the idea of mixed-used development, so different from the suburbs or "bedroom communities" of prior decades. Some candidate have an exaggerated fear of L. A. crime, fueled by images from television or movies.

Sometimes our job is to find candidates a location similar to the one they've left behind. At other times, it's to show them unique aspects of Southern California that compensate for changes in lifestyle. Sometimes, we just need to find the corner townhouse with two patios that has the "feel" of a single-family home.

Because we focus on housing issues, you can focus on the candidates you're recruiting and the career choice you're offering.
